Annual Testing

An annual assessment for homeschool students ages 8 and up is required by state law.

Group Testing – This year HomeLink will be offering the Iowa Achievement Test for students in grades 3-12.  The test will cover word study skills, reading skills/ comprehension, vocabulary, language arts, spelling, listening skills, and mathematics.  Social studies and science will not be covered.  The cost is $55/student.  Registration and fees must be received by Friday, March 17.  No late registrations or late payments can be accepted due to ordering deadlines!   Test results will be sent to your home in late May. Please note:  This test cannot be used for college admissions. 

Testing times and dates are as follows:

April 20 & 21 (must attend both days) – Grade 3-8, 9am-12:30pm (includes a short lunch break)

April 21 – Grades 9-12 (one day only), 9am-1:30pm (includes a short lunch break)

Individual Assessments may be made by appointment at HomeLink.  Please call the office to set up a time.  Assessments may begin June 1 and continue until August 31.  The cost is $65/student and will take approximately one hour.  Families having more than one student may have them tested together –allow a little more time.  Individual testing is especially recom- mended for younger students and for students who have trouble testing in a classroom setting.

To register for the Group Testing, please fill out the registration form and mail or drop by HomeLink by Friday, March 17.  Payment of $55 for each student must be included.
