Speech / Debate, Steve Bernard, HS

Students in this class will learn the basics of public speaking by mastering the skills modeled by the Toastmasters International program. The student will learn how to effectively project their voice in small to large venues and learn effective vocal variety and body movement and gestures. Elements of dialog, group discussion and debate will be explored. In addition, students will learn listening skills that will take them to the next level to effectively evaluate and recommend improvement to their fellow speakers.  CE

Materials fee – $20 (Pay to Steve Bernard)
Instructor will provide textbook for first two quarters. 3rd and 4th quarters will require: “Everyday Debate and Discussion” by Shelly Johnson,
