American History w/ Literature

Advisor: April Thome

This course will cover the story of the United States from the explorers who landed on the shores in the 1600’s through the end of World War 2. The history text will be enriched with literature selections that explain cultures and stories from the past. It will also be enhanced with a look at the nation’s constitution along with geography projects.  Through the first semester, students will learn research skills that will then be implemented the second semester on a historical project of their choice – a paper, a documentary, a website, an exhibit or a performance.
