(prerequisite: Basic Steps)                      

This course will set a foundation for excellent writing with an emphasis first on sentence variation, grammar skills as they apply to writing, and then MLA structuring. The patterns of organizational styles will be featured and practiced.  Creative writing will be introduced through short stories, legends / myths and poetry. The importance of characterization development using best word choices will be a part of the students’ writing development. Toward the end of the course, persuasive writing will be introduced through creative projects that will be quite motivating. CE
